The Incredible Courage of Ruth
Have You Ever Felt Broken or Destitue?
I love Ruth. Grieving, feeling broken and destitute, in vunerability, she demonstrated incredible courage. Her respect and love for her mother-in-law, Naomi, inspired her to make a decision that would impact the world.
Listening to Chuck Missler, I was again amazed by the courage of Ruth as she asked Boaz to cover her with his skirt.
As I went to the Word, I was challenged by the meaning of the word “skirt”.
This video includes:
- Significance and courage of Ruth’s request.
- The woman with the issue of blood, who courageously touched the hem of Jesus’ garment.
- The Lord Jesus, who rested under the shadow of the Almighty.
- Transformative message for you and me.
Dear Heart
Do you have a broken heart? Do you feel lonely or afraid? Reach out and touch the hem of Jesus’ garment. Whatever you are facing – courageously allow Jesus to be your authority.
Today, choose to courageously come under godly authority, where you will also be under God’s protective care.
Please let me know how I may pray for you as you move forward in your journey with Jesus, your Kinsman Redeemer.
Wow! So amazing how throughout the Word, the picture of the hem of a garment is used to represent authority. This definitely adds a whole new layer of depth of the story of Ruth and the woman with the issue of blood. Love how you tied it all in to verbal confessions of faith. So beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Joy.
It is fun how when you take the Word of God as a unit – you begin to see all kinds of connections you don’t see when you look at it as a composite of unrelated books by different authors. But oh the thrill when you begin to see themes that flow thru the pages drawing it into one beautiful Book, inspired by one Author.
And yes, it totally changes the dynamic and significance of stories of individuals, which means it also impacts the power of what they are saying to us as we journey through life. May we be wise and discerning as we study the Word and may we be quick to rest under our Lord’s authority. Blessings!
